Junior Schools Cross Country League

Introduction

The Mendip Junior Schools Cross Country League has been up and running since the early 1990's and provides the first taste of cross country running for many of the area's children. Last year over 400 children from 18 schools took part in the League. Since it's beginnings Mendip District Council have provided much needed sponsorship that enables the League to operate to the high standard that the local children have come to expect. Many of the leading children have gone on to perform well at the highest level.

League Rules

• Four Race Categories: Lower School (years 3&4) Girls and Boys; Upper School (years 5&6) Girls and Boys
• First THREE to score for each team
• Five Fixtures, best FOUR results for both Individual and Team events
• In the event of a tie, best 4th result will decide, and if still tied 5th result
• Medals awarded for first THREE in each category over the season
• Team award for wining team in each category
• Trophy for best overall "Small School" (with less than 100 pupils)

• Tuesday 26th Mar - Tor Leisure, Glastonbury
• Tuesday 19th Mar - Inter-Area Match, either Street or Glastonbury (TBC)
